Lotherton Landscapes

So Lotherton Hall has it's own bird sanctuary, and myself and my girlfriend ventured in to see what snaps we could get! Having recently been to go and take photos of some swans and ducks, I knew it was going to be difficult, but when we got there we really had our work cut out.

We spent ages trying to get some close ups of the birds, with Hana doing her best to draw them in by shaking her scarf, which actually worked!  We spent so long on the close ups of the heads of the ducks, and I took at least 20 photos per head! I think the fact that I love shooting in manual focus really  was my enemy as trying to catch a moving bird is so difficult!

Anyway, here are the results from the day:

1. A ducks head, I just love the patterns on his neck

2. A beautifully coloured bird

3. Blurred flamingoes

4. A close up of the first duck. Sadly the fence was too small to fit my lense through so just ignore that!

6. The head of a Rhea. I love the blue eyes!

Today's instalment is the landscapes of Lotherton Hall. As previously mention, Lotherton Hall is a really old house with surrounding gardens and a bird sanctuary. This post covers the views of the garden and the beautiful landscapes that you see from the house. The gardens are really pretty, and to be honest I much prefer shooting close up and macro shots, but these views caught my eye so I had to give it a go! here are the results:

1. View from the back of the house.

3. The view from the front door.

4. A lovely little wendy house in the grounds.

5. The entrance to the  'Secret Garden'.

Lotherton Hall Mash Up

As mentioned in my last post (Her Red Coat) I recently went to a place called Lotherton Hall. It's a beautiful old house near Leeds with surrounding gardens and a bird sanctuary, excellent for taking photos!

I have managed to get 4 different posts out of the photos I took that day, including the red coat and this compilation of bits and bobs, (very organised of me to already have them set up!) and so here is post number 2!

It was a sunny but very cold day when myself and my girlfriend decided to trek on over to Lotherton Hall. After paying 5 pounds each, which was a little steep seen as she had told me that last time she went she only paid to park there, we had a little wander about in the house and then onto the gardens and bird sanctuary. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take photos in the house, despite me trying my best to look like a pro and putting the attendants on the spot asking them with a big grin on my face. however when we got to the gardens I went snap happy and here are some of the results! Her Red Coat

Lotherton Hall near Leeds is where today's photos come from. It's an old house with surrounding gardens that are really pretty. So in the new year, myself and my girlfriend decided to go and have a look around and go and take some pictures! To be honest I will probably get 3 or 4 posts out of the photos I have taken at Lotherton Hall, which is really lucky as I won't be going out much this week with exams and hand ins!

In this post, it is all about one thing. Her Red Coat. Luckily for me, this was the first time she had worn the coat! I have never really taken photos of her from far away, and until now. I was lagging behind (trying to snap some leaves) when I looked up and saw her from afar in the red coat. Now in winter so many colours just disappear leaving a brown dull mess, and the red coat stood out so well that I had to take pictures of her!

So here is the first batch of photos from Lotherton Hall (which I will talk about properly in one of the other posts) featuring the red coat.

Christmas Decorations 2

My second post on Christmas decorations, with my first post here Christmas Decorations.

This time these are decorations taken from around my house! I had a little more time to capture these in the daytime so the lighting is better and there are more of them. So here we go:
