Mt. Saint Bernard Abbey

As mentioned before in my previous two posts - Grace Dieu Abbey and Grace Dieu Abbey Photoshoot! -  me and my buddy Rex went on a cycle ride to go and discover an abandoned abbey. We then took a different way home and stumbled across this one, a real working monastery! It is an extremely impressive building, so we chained up the bikes and went for a wander round the gardens, which were immaculately kept and took some great snaps.

1. The front path leading to the front door
2. The building
3. A stone in the garden wall
4 - 8. Flowers in the garden

Bradgate Park

Bradgate Park is a little place near Loughborough which me and my friends, Rex and Greg, decided to go to one day, and obviously we all took our cameras! After the little drive over, and parking on the road to avoid paying the parking charge (we are students after all) we set off on our walk! Bradgate Park is a marshland type place, which we soon discovered when it seeped through the bottom of our shoes, but the thing we were most excited for was the deer park. So we set off looking for deer, finding different things on the way which captured my interest.
This is the first of FIVE, yes five!, instalments from Bradgate Park, so keep your eyes peeled over the next week or so! I will link them all here too, when I post them.

These are the detailed shots I took whilst we were out and about:

1. A stone with a vein of moss running through it.
2. Branches of a tree, with Greg behind climbing it!
3. The tip of a rock.
4. Greg's shoes as the sun set.
5. The wall with Greg in the background.
6. Not so much a detail shot, but I had no other post to put it on! A tree with smoke billowing out of a chimney in the background.

Very Greg-filled!

Lotherton Hall Mash Up

As mentioned in my last post (Her Red Coat) I recently went to a place called Lotherton Hall. It's a beautiful old house near Leeds with surrounding gardens and a bird sanctuary, excellent for taking photos!

I have managed to get 4 different posts out of the photos I took that day, including the red coat and this compilation of bits and bobs, (very organised of me to already have them set up!) and so here is post number 2!

It was a sunny but very cold day when myself and my girlfriend decided to trek on over to Lotherton Hall. After paying 5 pounds each, which was a little steep seen as she had told me that last time she went she only paid to park there, we had a little wander about in the house and then onto the gardens and bird sanctuary. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take photos in the house, despite me trying my best to look like a pro and putting the attendants on the spot asking them with a big grin on my face. however when we got to the gardens I went snap happy and here are some of the results! More post on Lotherton to follow!

1. Leaves of a bush with the sun shining down
2. Part of a wreath
3. Green and yellow leaf
4. Bricks
5. The whole wreath
6. Leaf close up
7. Hay bale
8. Muddy flower after the rain

For some of these I used my Gorilla Pod. Don't forget to enter my competition where you can win one of them for yourself!
